ok, so i know a plate of calamari isn't exciting. no one ever said it was... but c'mon, how inviting does that picture look? it's almost asking you to go out and wrangle up some squid and buy a deep fryer for your own usage.
yea, so lately, here are some not so exciting, but still entertaining images that will be featured in the next issue of the magazine. let me know what you think.
...and feedback people. we're looking for feedback here. take a minute and make a login name, and gimme some post. thanks.

Last weeks scraps...
So last week I had the pleasure of meeting Al and Tipper Gore. Personally, I know Gore lost the 2000 election, but I think, in a fight, Gore would kick GWB's butt. He's a bigger guy in person than he is on the telly. Nice folks though. Nice event as well. (The Alice awards, in honor of woman's rights activist Alice Paul) Also, four-four (Hillary) showed up and gave a nice speech before she skooted off to another event. It always amazes me how well she speaks. Not that she couldn't before, but of the hundreds of people I've heard speak in the past 2 weeks, she's by far the most secure and proud of her words. Back to the grind... enjoy!

National Book Festival Weekend Here in DC...
oh, and oh yea, it's also the weekend of the protest here in DC.
welcome back kids! nothing like juxtaposing a war protester right next to a person in a "clifford the big red dog" costume. the cindy sherman led, traveling circus that is protesting the war picked a fine weekend to come an march on the capitol. ...that is, they would have, except that they didn't know that there was an IMF/World Bank protest this weekend too.... oh, and the president's sponsored book festival that is taking over the national mall as we speak. good times man, good times. thank goodness the book festival gala was last night. : ) among other dignitaries and heads of state, the evening was well attended by most of the presidents cabinet, and various luminaries from all walks of the literary world. from tom wolfe to dikembe mutombo, if to be seen was what you wanted, you needed a pass to get into the library of congress. needless to say, thanks to the fact that i now am the number one 'on staff' photographer for DC magazine, (a modern luxury publication) www.modernluxury.com some of us commoners got in. enjoy...
