And Finally... Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas everyone. This is the only image I will allow for this, but if you like, please feel free to click on this image, right click it, and then save for your own. Perhaps a desktop image for your computer, (it is mine right now) or a print for a family memeber. However you like. Consider it my present to you. ...Does this get me out of my 'Grab' obligations??? : )

DC Mag has me working like a dog... and you won't hear me complain.

Greetings.
Hi again all. Just trying to tie up some loose ended here on the ol' blogger. This past week as been about as busy as it gets. Since the deadline of the magazine was this week, ad execs were scrambling to get more ad space sold, and with their harder work, so came my harder work. I think it was something like 9 shoots in 3 days or something like that. I'm like DC magazine's hired gun. Essentially, I'm a hit man, because all I do is come into a location, shoot, and hit it right on target, and kill it. Maybe they can offer me new business cards. "Kevin Koski : Assasin". Actually, that would be cool... I'll get right to work on that one.
Cheers,
Kevin 12/9.05

DC Mag. Ad Shoot.

DC Mag. Bistro Asiatique. Bethesda, MD. ...Thank goodness this was my last shoot for the Jan/Feb issue. Halfway thru shooting their low light level interiors, my tripod busted, meaning that I had to hold my breath like a skeetshooter in the olympics to make sure there was no camera shake in the image. Thankfully, we also had food shoots as well. The interiors turned out great, but the food turned out better than expected. I love the color contrast from the wall to the red in the plate.

DC Mag. Ad Shoot.

DC Magazine. Michael Brown, real estate broker. Easy enough shoot, but because of snow, there was a lot more reflective light that first thought. Upon second looks, this was one of few images that worked out from about 100. I think I got it thought.

PROMO AD, DC Modern Luxury

DC Modern Luxury Magazine will be running this ad, 1/3rd page, in the January-February issue. There's one guy sitting in his house in Georgetown right now, who is a little on the excited side about that. : ) Let me know what you all think about it.
Some of you may be wondering why I didn't include some of the more familiar work from the show, or from this photo blog (earlier). Well, I'm at the moment, in negotiations with the creative VP at Polo/Ralph Lauren, to have the work displayed in stores worldwide. ...No, I'm not joking. We'll just have to wait and see, but it looks very positive and it's less of a question of "if", and more a question of "when" and "what else/next". So, needless to say, should the images be picked up by RL, I lose some creative rights over them. Again, we shall see...

DC Mag. Ad shoot. 12.6.05

DC Mag. "Jin" is a new bar/club, recently opened up around the U-St. Corridor of DC. The interior space is amazing, and they really did an great job decorating and matching up all aspects of the interior astethic. This had to be one of the easier shoots this week.

DC Mag. Ad shoot. 12.4.05

DC Mag. Shoot for a new store ("Hitched") opening in Georgetown, December '05. The shoot also involved the two women who own the shop, and I think the image the mag will use, will most likely be one of those. Personally though, I like this image. I'd like to see them use it in print campaigns, and they might, but we shall see..

Balaquin shoot. Who knew towels could perform like this and be sooooooooo sexy. : ) Oooh, look at that embroidery! Wow, look at those towel samples! : ) I actually like this picture a lot.

DC Mag. Energy Club.

I'm sure you're wondering how we got this shot, after all, it is shot from the top of a rock wall. Hmmm. Well, let's just say that there was harness, and one scared polish/irish man, dangling 30' above the ground. Yikes. Got the shot though. EC was very pleased...

DC Mag shoot. Energy Club Full Page Ad. Image 1 of 4.

The Energy Club in Shirlington, VA, approached me about re-shooting their ad that runs in DC. Naturally, (since I never say no to anything photo related) I said "yep". Here's one of the images from that shoot...

New Holga Work

The latest images are new work (unpublished), and basically some more of the images that didn't make the cut for the show. (Which, by the way is becoming quite the reference point of my life. More on that, if you haven't heard yet, later...) All of these images, I really, really like, and it wasn't until recently that I came across them. Thanks to the wonderful world of digital photography, they all can be brought back with a simple scan. Joy. Too bad I didn't find them again until now, because they really would have tied into the show quite well. Hope all is well with everyone, and I'll post again soon.

Kevin.
Untitled. I'll always love this image. There's just something I cherish about the colors and the content. Lighthouse beach in Chatham has been really, really good to me. Posted by Picasa
Chatham, February Winds. An all to common sight. Posted by Picasa
Christmas in Manhattan. Rockafeller Plaza on a typical NYC winter day... snow, wind, more snow, more and more snow, wind knocking you over, more snow, wet feet... Ruined 2 pairs of shoes that weekend, I just remembered that. Damn... Posted by Picasa
Skateboarders @ Seaport. I just really liked the angle and the action. Posted by Picasa

Misc pix...

And finally to Jean. Thank you for showing me that no matter how hard I tried, I could never hide my face behind a 12oz plastic beer cup. A metaphor of sorts, when you think about it... actually, nevermind. Thanks Jean, for letting Meg live in NYC for a few months thus allowing me to take 2 of the 12 images in the show. Posted by Picasa

Misc pix...

...for the record, if anyone is ever trapped in a blizzard, and you need someone to drive a 4x4 truck thru snow banks and towing someone on a snowboard, and the windows are too fogged up to see and the defroster doesn't work... Benny Boy. That's your man. Thanks Benny, for conning all of your friends to take senior pictures with me. Ha, we fooled them. : ) Posted by Picasa
